For Earthgrains Baking Companies in Phoenix, Shade Architects designed a 3,000-square-foot building addition to an existing 53,504-square-foot industrial facility on a 3.3-acre site. Adding onto the building required a comprehensive life-safety plan for the whole facility. The work has continued into a second phase for the same client.

At Progress Plaza in Phoenix, Shade Architects designed a replacement canopy along 300 feet of storefront at a 21,700-square-foot commercial building. The new wood-framed canopy, roofed in painted corrugated steel, sits on the building's existing concrete columns and keeps its original footprint. We prepared the construction documents and permit set, coordinated the structural engineering, and answered contractor questions through construction. The design tied new framing into the existing building while keeping storefront lighting and tenant signs in place, and the work was planned so the walkway below stayed safe for the public. When field conditions put tenant signs in conflict with the new canopy, we worked out the clearances with the contractor.

We have also provided site planning for the Diamond Trucking Storage Building and designed a new garage building, Lindsey Garage.
